IT Business Analyst V (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Business Analyst for our client in New York, New York. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• The Reference Data organization is the firm-wide provider of product (financial securities), counterparty, agreement, book & account reference data, which is critical to 500+ consuming applications spanning multiple lines of business (Global Markets, Global Wealth & Investment Management, etc.) from the front office (trading apps, etc.) to the back office.
• The Client Onboarder Client Reference Data team is looking to hire a Business Analyst to work on its strategic software platform responsible for capturing and tracking the onboarding of clients throughout the pre-trading lifecycle.
• This person will work in a large software development team located in New York, New Jersey and Mumbai of 20+ developers and business analysts that is responsible for maintenance of Client reference data, workflow tools and data quality. He/she will be responsible for requirements gathering and testing, while assisting in the design and support of various projects ranging from 1 to 10 people in size. The focus for this role is to work with the various project teams, help them translate business requirements into functional and system requirements. The role will also involve managing the coordination between the development team and business end users to ensure that the desired business outcomes of each project are correctly relayed to the developers in order to support critical functional and non-functional requirements and improve the maintainability of the application. As a Business Analyst, he/she will collaborate with multiple users groups and developments teams to provide critical visibility into these projects and ensure each project meets the needs of the user base.
• Financial industry knowledge or experience is not required, but desired. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, who enjoys understanding and coordinating between the priorities of multiple user groups to bring together one cohesive project vision. The ability to negotiate the best solution within the user base and succinctly drive the delivery of that solution throughout the project lifecycle is essential.

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years of total Business Analysis experience is required
• At least 2-3 years of extensive hands-on experience in Scala/Python
• Bachelor’s degree is required

Desired Skills:

• Any experience writing business and functional requirements documents for a large financial organization
• Experience workflow system development including integration between systems is a plus
• Investment Banking experience is desirable
