iOS / Android / Splunk Engineer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an iOS / Android / Splunk Engineer for our client in San Francisco, CA. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Design, Develop & Prototype Android & iOS native customer application for phone and tablets for internal and external use. Participate in full app life-cycle: concept, design, build, deploy, test and release to app store Work with product teams on new product ideas, designs, prototypes and estimate. Write and develop custom Splunk scripts, programs as needed basis. Keep up to date on current and upcoming features in relevant products and platforms. Drive a best practices approach to the continuous improvement of our products, processes, and tools. Write and maintain documentation for all features in development.
  • Provide leadership and deep technical expertise in all aspects of solution design and application development for specific business environments. Focus on setting technical direction on groups of applications and similar technologies as well as taking responsibility for technically robust solutions encompassing all business, architecture, and technology constraints. May be responsible for coordinating teams to accomplish development in a matrixed organization.

Required Skills:

  • To ensure success as an Sr Android/ iOS Engineer, you should have a strong working knowledge of Android/ iOS Frameworks, be proficient in Objective-C, Swift & Swift UI and be able to work as part of a team. Ultimately, an outstanding developer should be able to create functional, attractive applications that perfectly meet the needs of the user. Typically requires minimum of 5-7 years of experience. BS or equivalent education is required.
  • 2-3 years of experience on Splunk Query development and query tuning work efforts
  • Support and maintain production code for mobile production applications
  • Must have development experience in Core Java
  • Experience working with various source code and CI/CD management tools e.g. Jenkins, Perforce, Git, Bitbucket
  • Ability to work with limited to no guidance in a team environment
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams
  • Should be a good team player with prior liaison and collaboration experience with senior leaders

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with Android Application technologies. Demonstrated interest in technology, technology-related issues and analytical analysis. High performance and standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience. Effective collaborator with both non-technical and technical team members. Motivated self-starter with a high attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong focus on troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Optional Skills:

  • 2-3 years of experience on leading test automation projects
  • Hands on experience in designing and building automation frameworks from scratch or using open source tools
  • Experience in writing complex automated tests for both native and hybrid mobile apps for any platform
