Infrastructure Engineer (Closed)
SkillStorm is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for our client in Addison, TX OR Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.
Job Description:
- Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, and maintains infrastructure that support business units or supporting functions.
- The infrastructure may involve diverse development platforms, mainframe, midrange including bare-metal, container and cloud. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex application infrastructure requirements, often using new technologies like streaming platforms.
- Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource for all infrastructure activities. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. --Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.
- Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants.
Required Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to create user documentation and document workflow processes
- Individual must possesses excellent soft skills including team building, presentation, communication, knowledge sharing, decision making and the ability to train others effectively
- Ability to recognize and record the need for processing improvements and take a leadership role in pursuing the best course of action.
- Ability to work independently; communicate with and lead offshore/onshore resources
- A general knowledge of a project lifecycle and management skills. Understanding of SDLC and AGILE development practices.
- Knowledge of and experience with key GWIM or Consumer Retail applications, databases and frameworks
- 5-7 years’ experience with production support and business analysis skill
- Ability to review new technologies as applicable solutions to new or existing problems
- RDBMS knowledge to understand relations ship of objects in database systems
- Strong skills in planning capacity requirements for new Infrastructure and working with architects and lead engineers to arrive at optimal capacity sizing.
- Strong skills in unix environments for system administration activities
- Strong skills in trouble shooting issues associated with capacity like cpu utilization, memory utilization with diagnostic experience.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of and experience with TI processes for Infrastructure design and provisioning
- Knowledge of and experience with any key GWIM or Consumer Retail applications, databases and frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in driving and leading projects to successful completion
