IBM DataStage Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a IBM DataStage Developer for our client in Plano, Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• This position will be responsible for developing, testting, debugging, deploying and supporting IBM Datastage ETL job flows. Primary scope will involve emergency production break/fix code changes and test cycle defect resolution, job execution and recovery.
• DDS ETL job volumes now represent 25% of all enterprise Datastage workloads, over a million job executions per month, supporting nearly 100 system partners by EOY18, To support the volume of projects,releases and mantain stringent production service levels, we need proportionate development support to sustain delivery quality.
• 10 + years. Develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains and debugs software applications that support business units or support functions. A senior member of the technical team responsible for assisting senior business leaders and management. May provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization. Leads or has responsibility for estimation of effort for software application for one or more programmers. Coordinates collaboration with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget. Provides feedback and technical guidance to project managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers

Required Skills:

• Hands on development/debugging of IBM Datastage v8.7 or higher ETL jobs in a grid/cluster env.
• Experience creating/debugging Unix Shell Scripts (KSH, BASH)
• Konwledge of Unix/Linux basics
• Creating/Maintaining/managing CA Autosys job schedules
• Exp with IBM Sterling Connect: Direct NDM

Desired Skills:

• SQL development in a DB2 AND/OR Oracle env
• Agile software delivery
• ITIL Change, Incident and problem mgmt process
• Data testing and ETL functional test automation
