SkillStorm is seeking a Hadoop Developer for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• This position is for Hadoop Developer supporting data sourcing, extraction, and data loads from multiple database environments and file types. We are looking for someone who can work independently but in a team environment, can work on multiple projects concurrently, and will take ownership and pride in their work. The candidate will be responsible for project meetings, understanding requirements, designing, developing, and partnering with near shore and offshore teammates in a matrix environment. Experience working in an AGILE environment is a plus. This position requires a strong working knowledge of database technologies and data processing. Enterprise Job Description: Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Typically requires 7-8 years of experience. Required Skills: Experience with Hadoop. (2- 3 years)Experience with multiple relational database environments (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Netezza, etc.) (2-5 years)Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Ability to multi task and adapt to change. Ability to effectively communicate with on-shore and off-shore resources. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to analyze requirements documents for impacts Experience with Agile project management processes. Experience working in Onsite-offshore model. Desired Skills: Autosys, Shell Scripting. Reporting tools such as Microstrategy / Tableau

Required Skills:

• Minimum 12 year experience in IT with strong hands-on knowledge in Spark, Scala, Hive HQL, HDFS, Hadoop, Shell Scripts and Oracle SQL
• Strong hands-on developer
• Experience gathering requirements, designing complex applications and creating technical documents
• Experience with Oracle Exadata and Autosys
• Experience with coding and testing prototypes
• Experience with unit tests especially in Hadoop environment
• Knowledge of Agile development SDLC process
• Working experience with CI/CD processes, tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence) and production deployment release process (e.g. change requests)

Desired Skills:

• Working experience in Banking domain (Wholesale Credit space is a plus)
