FX Analytics Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a FX Analytics Developer for our client in Chicago, IL. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • The TFX Analytics team is a multi-faceted team responsible for TFX’s data and analytics projects. We provide analytical tools used by FX Sales and Trading partners on a day-to-day basis.
  • We are looking for a talented developer who can participate in all parts of application development from gathering requirements from business users and building and maintaining applications, to working with the analytics applications such as Tableau and responding to business inquiries.
  • We are seeking junior level developers to join our team, grow with us, and teach us a few things along the way.

As A Successful Candidate and Team Member You Must:

  • Be able to demonstrate proficiency with Java/Scala, SQL, Linux and a reasonable subset of the following:
  • HTML5/React, Low latency, High Performance REST API/Micro services.
  • Linux Shell, Ansible, Maven, Version Control/GIT
  • Agile Practices
  • Messaging (Kafka, AMPS)
  • Large scale data processing,
  • Object Oriented Design and Development as well as Functional Programming
  • Design Principles and Patterns
  • Highly desirable is experience with analytics technologies, such as:
  • Impala, Spark, Hadoop, Distributed File Systems (HDFS), Kafka
  • Tableau & Alteryx
  • Additionally, it would be nice to have experience in any of the following:
  • Foreign Exchange Markets, Electronic Payments & Settlements, additional languages such as Python
  • Test Driven and Behavior Driven Development and related frameworks
  • Have a proven ability to solve problems with technology
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be able to work directly with business stakeholders to define requirements and estimation
  • Be flexible with day-to-day responsibilities
  • Working across multiple systems using multiple programming languages and technologies
  • Working across time-zones with London and Chicago
  • Provide L3 support and training to users

About The Role:

  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining analytics applications to load and process data into the TFX data lake
  • You will be responsible for maintaining lower environments and support other analytics developers on the team including working with DevOps and vendor teams
  • You will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including story writing and estimation, design, development, test planning, test automation, and deployment
