Get paid to become a deployed software professional.
Launching technology careers isn't a side project at SkillStorm. It's what we do. We develop technical talent for Fortune 100 enterprises and U.S. government agencies, and this role is your way in. You'll start on our payroll, complete 12 weeks of paid, hands-on training built around real team-based projects, and then go straight to an enterprise or government client, effective day one. You won't pay for a course. You'll be hired into a paid role with a defined route from "qualified" to "deployed professional."
Who we're looking for
This role is designed for people at the start of their technical careers who want a structured entry into enterprise software. That includes recent graduates, career changers who already have a technical foundation, and veterans and transitioning service members. The common thread is strong fundamentals and real motivation.
Two ways to qualify
You're likely a match if you have:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a similar technical field
- At least 1 year of technical work experience
Along with those, you'll need a working grasp of programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, databases and SQL, and software development in an object-oriented language like Java or C#.
Every applicant who meets one of these paths gets an individual review for fit. Not sure where you stand? Apply anyway. Deciding whether you qualify is our job, so don't screen yourself out.
What sets strong candidates apart
- Sharp problem-solving and logical thinking
- Clear communication, written and spoken, with teammates and stakeholders
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
- Willingness to relocate for a client placement
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a SkillStorm W2 employee (C2C arrangements are not available)
A note for veterans and transitioning service members
Structured training, a defined mission, clearance-eligible work, and relocation support: this model already matches how you work. We want you in this pipeline.
Your work on client deployment
- Develop and improve applications using your client's languages, frameworks, and tools
- Produce clean, efficient, well-organized code that meets professional standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, and provide technical support
- Take part in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback
- Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications
- Help test and deploy to production, and keep technical documentation up to date
- Stay current on industry tools and techniques through continued training
What you get with SkillStorm
- A competitive salary, paid from your first day, with no training costs on your end
- Enterprise-level technology training and certifications
- Assignments with Fortune 100 companies and government agencies
- Health, vision, dental, and life insurance, plus a 401(k)
- Ongoing mentorship and support through training and into placement
