Front-End / Python / Data Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Front-End / Python / Data Developer for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• 10 + years. Develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains and debugs software applications that support business units or support functions. A senior member of the technical team responsible for assisting senior business leaders and management. May provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization. Leads or has responsibility for estimation of effort for software application for one or more programmers. Coordinates collaboration with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget. Provides feedback and technical guidance to project managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers.

Role Overview:

• Works as part of a broader team on delivery of projects spanning multiple quantitative domains
• Leads a large project or multiple projects that are significant in scope and impact
• Works independently, with limited direction, and is evaluated through end results
• Interacts extensively with internal or external contacts to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex problems
• Will leverage strong quantitative and programming skills to build deep knowledge of the banks pricing & risk libraries and
• infrastructure. Use this knowledge to serve as a trusted partners to clients

Requirement:

• Graduate degree in STEM with minimum 2 years of relevant hands-on experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or Quantitative Field
• MS + 5 years or BS + 7 years of relevant experience
• Good work ethic and eagerness to learn
• Ability to drive projects and clearly communicate business requirements
• Proved experience with team management
• Front end development knowledge/experience.
• Experience working with large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
• Intermediate MS Excel skills (Lookups, pivot tables, charting, and formatting)
• Strong presentation skills/intermediate MS PowerPoint skills
• Ability to communicate complex information to team members and senior business leaders
• Python experience

Pluses:

• Front end development knowledge/experience.
• Familiarity with html/css/ javascript/jQuery, and javascript frameworks such as angular
• Intermediate or Advanced knowledge of Data science and Machine learning
• Experience with Apache Spark
• Data visualization libraries such as bokeh, seaborn, d3
• Experience with libraries such as scikit-learn, tensorflow, pytorch.
• Numeric and non-numeric data processing.
• Basic knowledge of financial instruments, fixed income products preferred.
