DevOps Engineer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a DevOps Engineer for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina OR Pennington, New Jersey. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Overview:

    • We are building a new strategic data platform for NFRR (Non-Finance Regulatory Reporting). This is a new initiative focused on ADS enrichment, Orchestration, Data quality monitoring and regulatory reporting
    • We work in a dynamic environment where team members are flexible, self-sufficient; learn the business, the data and the technology stack with minimal supervision and lead the push for horizontally scalable, high performance applications.

About the Role:

  • NFRR Tech is data-driven value chain and looking for a hands-on DEVOPS engineer who have a strong and successful track record working on large linux platform hosting no-sql databases, web-middleware solutions data movement frameworks integrated with BitBucket/Jenkins/Ansible based CI/CD tech stack.

Infrastructure Stack:

  • Linux RH 8.0, Mongo DB/Neo4J NoSQL DB, Apache Nifi, Apache/Node web-middleware, Pega BPM, Splunk/ITRS GENEOS monitoring solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & development of integrated CI/CD automation across non-homogenies solution stack.
  • Create automated procedures to reduce overall deployment time of large application by coming up with strategy, identify component dependency and Devops toolset (Ansible, Jenkins & others)
  • Design & development of solutions augmenting overall monitoring and operational automations with tools such as ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Dynatrace & App Dynamics.
  • Create strategy and implement overall build automations procedures for components such as Portal, Nifi, Kafka, Pega BPM
  • Participate in planned Disaster Recovery drills, Release deployment procedures
  • Setup automation routines for health check of environments in Production and lower lane environments
  • Proactive application stability analysis – investigate performance concerns, error analysis, improve maintenance processes, automation, and resolution of open issues
  • Participate in activities with development streams (agile scrum processes) and vendor-engineering toward capacity planning and release management.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Expert Knowledge of automation using DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, CI, Git, Nexus, Ansible, Bitbucket
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux platform, including LDAP-based authentication integration and clustering.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure component setup in active / active mode
  • Familiarity with Nifi, Kafka, Pega BPM, Mongo DB, Portal components
  • Familiarity with SQL/No-SQL infrastructure with fundamental knowledge of clustering.
  • Demonstrated experience developing scripts (bash, Python, Ansible etc.) automating operational tasks
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Bitbucket, TFS , GIT strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau , MicroStrategy
  • Exposure to OpenShift/Kubernetes platform is plus
  • Expertise in setup of monitoring tools such has Splunk, ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, AppDynamics

Education:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering

Experience Range:

  • 5 -7 years (overall)
