Get hired first, trained second, and deployed third, all on our payroll.
Building software careers is what SkillStorm does, start to finish. We supply technology talent to Fortune 100 enterprises and U.S. government agencies, and every person we place starts the same way: 12 weeks of paid, hands-on training on real projects built in teams, followed by direct deployment to an enterprise or government client, effective day one. You don't pay us for training; we pay you while you train. It's a real job with a defined route from "qualified" to "deployed professional."
The people we're looking for
This role is designed for people at the start of their technical careers who have the fundamentals and the motivation, and want a structured entry into enterprise software. That includes recent graduates, career changers who already have a technical foundation, and transitioning service members and veterans.
The baseline:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field
- At least 1 year of technical work experience
You'll need working knowledge of programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, databases and SQL, and object-oriented development in a language like Java or C#.
Every applicant who meets one of these paths gets an individual review for fit. Unsure where you stand? Apply anyway. Deciding whether you qualify is our job, so don't screen yourself out.
What sets strong candidates apart
- Sharp problem-solving and logical thinking
- Clear communication, written and spoken, with both teammates and stakeholders
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
- Willingness to relocate for a client placement
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a SkillStorm W2 employee (C2C arrangements not accepted)
A note for veterans and transitioning service members
Structured training, a defined mission, clearance-eligible work, and relocation support: this program runs the way you're already used to operating. We're actively recruiting you into this pipeline.
Your work on client assignment
- Develop and improve applications using the client's languages, frameworks, and tooling
- Produce clean, efficient, well-organized code that meets professional standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, and provide technical support
- Take part in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback
- Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications
- Help with testing and production deployments, and keep technical documentation up to date
- Stay current on industry tools and practices through continued training
What you get
- A competitive salary from day one, in a paid role rather than training you fund yourself
- Enterprise-level technology training and certifications
- Placement with Fortune 100 companies and government agencies
- Health, vision, dental, and life insurance, plus a 401(k)
- Ongoing mentorship and support through training and into placement
