Database Developer / Data Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Database Developer / Data Analyst for our client in Jersey City, NJ OR Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Candidate with strong Data Analytical skills (for data stored in Oracle / SQL Server)
• Strong proficiency with Oracle PL/SQL development
• Experience in Procedures, Functions, Packages, views, Materialized Views, Indexes, Triggers, Constraints, Snapshots, Synonyms, Sequences, Database Links, Bulk collect, For all, ref cursor, partition tables, Analytical functions, collections, objects and writing complex queries
• Good understanding of Normalization, renormalization and star schema
• Good understanding of data warehouse concepts
• Good knowledge of Unix shell scripting
• Experience in performance tuning and good understanding of explain plan
• Experience using Scrum and following Agile best practices
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
• Skills: Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Unix Shell Scripting

Primary Skill:

• Oracle SQL / PLSQL

Required Skills:

• 5+ years' experience with DB & ETL Development tools like PL/SQL, Informatica. Hands on shell scripting experience. Unix/Linux experience.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of data management concepts, including database structure, and proficiency with Oracle SQL and other standard database query tools.
• Experience in data analysis, data mapping techniques.
• Work experience with Business Intelligence (data architecture, entity relationship planning, dimensional modeling, ETL, OLAP, analytical reporting) preferred
• Solid background in ETL Informatica and database development (Oracle / SQL Server)

Desired Skills:

• Experience in Trading/Banking technology will be an added plus
• Experience in Compliance/Independent Testing area will be an added plus
