Database Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Database Analyst for our client in Charlotte, NC OR Richardson, TX OR Richmond, VA. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Database Analyst for strategic program. Resource will allow program to meet delivery targets. The objective of the program is to Provide Actionable Informational Dashboards to our TI and Business Partners. Ultimately this effort would drive Operational Excellence
• Experienced in profiling the data, understanding the domain knowledge, responsible for responding to the client data enquiries. 5+ years of strong experience in writing SQL queries to profile the data. Experience in database and query optimization will be important. Must have familiarity with IT Infrastructure management domain. Candidate expected to have good communication and documentation skills. Solid understanding of data architecture, writing complex queries and query tuning and troubleshooting. Resource will be responsible for understanding the data and data processing and will respond to enquiries about the data. In addition, resource should be able to work independently with minimal guidance, in understanding requirements provided by Business Partners and writing SQL queries to support business.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years’ fulltime experience in MS SQL Query writing
• MSSQL Server 2012 or higher
• Hadoop Hive
• PySpark & Python Development
• Visual Studio 2015 or higher
• Writing complex queries and query tuning and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Indexes, cursors, triggers
• Experience working with partitioned tables and other database design patterns
• SQL code optimization, tuning with ability to work with large datasets
• Extensive knowledge of Data transformation and validation

Good To Have:

• MicroStrategy & Tableau
• Experience with Hadoop-Hive /PySpark / Python development
