Data Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Data Analyst for our client in Toronto, Ontario. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Quantitative Services Risk Operations (Market Risk Data Stewards) run data quality processes on feeds coming into Market Risk and reconciliation processes to ensure VaR figures are ready for senior management, risk managers and the desks in a timely fashion. The Data Support Sr Analyst in the Policy Adherence and Reporting team within the Risk Operations team provides the governance framework to ensure that the controls executed by the Data Stewards comply with all relevant enterprise and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead market risk adherence efforts to regulatory policies, risk data aggregation standards, and enterprise-mandated standards.
  • Manage the program to automate lineage documentation in support of the EDM standards
  • Identify opportunities and suggest solutions to improve data quality and business processes.
  • Communicate with internal and external auditors and enterprise testing teams and coordinate enterprise data testing efforts.
  • Provide oversight for centralized attestation process, proactively anticipating and thoroughly executing to provide SME supporting documentation to executive attesters (e.g., Critical Use Spreadsheet, FR Y-14, SOX, etc.)
  • Work directly with senior management from various teams to identify necessary steps to ensure compliance to constantly evolving regulatory requirements in the Risk Data Management and Reporting space.
  • Assist in the LOB’s annual RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment) processes.
  • Identify RDA compliance control gaps and drive remediation.
  • Support Data Quality ticketing process and work with LOB RMs, technology, and support partners to investigate DQ issues, and manage upstream and downstream remediation.
  • Drive long-term remediation of key issues.

Requirements:

  • Data query & reporting experience (SQL, Tableau)
  • Organizational talent with strong communication skills
  • Capital Markets and / or data management background
