Data Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Data Analyst for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• The person in this role will be the member of a data analysis and strategy team responsible for analyzing requirements documents created to fulfill regulatory reporting needs for Non-Financial Regulatory Reports and creating technical specifications for the sourcing and transformation of the data to meet requirements. The analysis and mapping will require the person in this role to work with representatives of various data sources, determine the appropriate data source, negotiate usage of the data, and document the technical specifications. The candidate will be responsible for development and maintenance of a domain data dictionary to document a common taxonomy. The person in this role will be required to produce and maintain traceability and lineage relationships between requirements, design, technically implemented code, and data sources. This role will ensure that the various metadata components created by the internal team and other stakeholders and be systematically related to each other and populated into a strategic analysis solution. This role will also be responsible for the usage of desktop tools to create technical logic for the preparation of data for the fulfillment of requirements. The person in this role must be able to manage multiple parallel work efforts. This person will be responsible for the delivery of a set of specifications to the technical implementation team which will be operating in an AGILE manner. The incumbent in this role should have experience in regulatory reporting for one or more of the following domains: Securities and Derivatives, Anti-Money Laundering, Escheatment, Consumer Mortgage, Global Banking and Markets, Commercial Lending.

Required Skills:

• Strong ability to examine physical data and infer relationships to business context and requirements o Strong understanding of LEAN AGILE or other iterative development methodologies with practical exposure to these techniques
• Ability to write SQL against various DB management systems: Oracle, Teradata, HIVE, Impala, SQL Server
• 7+ years of experience in financial services
• Direct participation/support of technical delivery
• Data preparation o Data management
• One or more of the following areas of expertise: Global Markets, Compliance, Consumer Lending, Wholesale Lending
