Job Description:

  • The Cloud Services team is seeking a Software Engineer who will use their knowledge and experience to develop, test, and maintain an in-house distributed application distribution and runtime platform, Enterprise File System. EFS provides its clients with the ability to rapidly package, deploy, and run applications at scale in data centers around the globe.
  • This role will be responsible for working with cloud services engineering and operations teams as well as subject matter experts and vendors to develop and deliver distributed file system solutions. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements. This role codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. The candidate will be expected to become familiar with development and testing practices of the bank as well as understand and adhere to all security policies from development through deployment.

Required Skills:

  • Technical expertise in all aspects of solution design and application development for all business environments
  • Experience in developing large-scale, back-end applications
  • Ability to understand, develop, and maintain complex server software
  • Skill in development with scripting languages and tools including Perl, Python, Bash, and Git
  • Experience with Agile development processes and tools, such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment practices and tools, such as Jenkins and Ansible
  • Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills
  • Utilizing multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
  • Experience creating technical documentation and training materials
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adjust to technical and non-technical audiences across the organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a geographically dispersed team
