Cloud Architect (Closed)

Description of Work:

 

The Cloud Architect is responsible for leading the next generation solutions and strategies throughout all the lifecycle phases from service design to Service operation. The ideal candidate must have:

  • Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge with cloud based technologies including public, private and hybrid architectures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with tools, technologies, and methodologies to develop solutions capable to meet business requirements while being in alignment with cloud and security best practices and regulations.
  • Experience with Open Source and Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) products, services and tools that can be used as a core DevOps resources and building blocks for scalable, resilient and cloud native solutions.
  • Experience with but not limited to native technologies such as multi-clusters, serverless technologies, containerized applications, stretched networks, and multi-tiered storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of complimentary frameworks and regulations such as Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
     

Tasks for this position includes:
 

  • Architect and design Azure and AWS solutions for enterprise business requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and provide an optimized architecture and address technical limitations.
  • Drive enterprise digital transformation, cloud adoption, optimization, and automation by applying broad technical skills.
  • Provide thought leadership in solution architecture, requirements analysis, strategies and reviews.
  • Provide leadership in evaluating, recommending and implementing monitoring tools to support a hybrid and multi-cloud environment.
  • Lead technical discussions to develop transition roadmaps and strategies to migrate legacy systems to cloud architectures (on-prem, off-prem or hybrid).
  • Identify and present to the customer, architectural solutions, and new technologies to address current and future business needs, best practices and cost optimization strategies.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.
 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relative experience, Master's degree and 5 years of relative experience, or 11 years of relative experience in an IT field in lieu of a degree.
  • 10 years of experience in Enterprise Platform Architecture leading multiple enterprise business architecture initiatives
  • 7 years of hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS Cloud Platforms
  • 7 years of experience in working with standards & issues with regard to multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications and security standards and processes.
  • 7 years of experience with enterprise application integration technologies.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering including DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, test automation, environment and configuration automation, etc.
  • AWS and Azure Cloud Certifications.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.
 

  • Adept at working independently, but also in a team environment
  • Demonstrate experience to deliver technology solutions in a fast-paced in a deadline driven enterprise environment
  • Excellent understanding of change management, testing requirements, deployment technologies and methods , and tools to ensure high availability of systems
  • Prior Federal government experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Self-starter, highly motivated individual who adapts to a dynamic work environment
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities
