Cisco Voice Engineer (Closed)
SkillStorm is seeking a Cisco Voice Engineer for our client in Charlotte, NC OR Addison, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.
Job Description:
- This role requires experience providing technical expertise and leadership to flawlessly execute numerous initiatives in the Cisco Enterprise Voice space
- Provide broad technical view across platforms, identifying technical dependencies, issues, risks, and impact of deliverables and production environment
- Ensure orchestration of technical deliverables including consistency and interoperability between new architectural components and legacy platforms
- Expertise in managing technology and operational risk associated with large technology transformations related to Cisco Enterprise Voice
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the transition of technology change and complex projects in the Cisco Enterprise Voice environment
- Translate request into technical scope of work
- Design and implement Cisco Enterprise Voice Solutions that seamlessly integrate with adjunct voice technologies
- Evaluate user impact to features and functionality
- Work with Product, Architecture and Engineering, Vendor, and Service Providers to define transformation and migration strategy
- Develop migration strategy including detailed tasks, timeline, deliverables, and goals
- Develop risk mitigation plan for pre, during, and post transformation
- Ensure migration process adheres to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Define criteria and benchmark measurements for success
- Develop plan for user experience testing
- Participate in communication plan and creation of user notification
- Ensure engineering cost points are achieved
- Provide supporting materials for bank Permit to Operate Tollgate
- Establish and conduct Knowledge Share sessions with support teams
- Manage pilots and modify plan as needed
- Change validation and oversight for all migrations
- Monitor adoption success post migration
- Day 1 support and escalation post migration
Skills:
- Demonstrate extensive technical hands-on experience working in large VOIP environment using Cisco Voice solutions including CUCM, Unity Connection Voice Mail, SCCP, Gatekeeper, CUCIMOC and Jabber softphones
- Broad working knowledge of call routing QSIG, MGCP, CAC, H323, PRI, and SIP
- Cisco system and endpoint configuration to meet site specific requirements
- Sonus/Ribbon Gateway Technology integration experience
- VLANs, switch port configuration, Layer 2 and 3 networking, and QOS

- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including attention to detail, and ability to determine effective course of action as required
- Ability to thoroughly review, understand and interpret technology updates for applicability in the environment we support
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of customers and leadership
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and respond under pressure
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio
Other Required Skills:
- Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as computer science, computer engineering or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 7+ years of strong technical experience in coordinating the implementation and operation of voice and data communication solutions
- Must have exceptional time management skills, be customer oriented and strong organizational, execution, and delivery skills
- Day, Night and Weekend Work will be required as needed.
