Business / Data Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Business / Data Analyst for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Position Summary:

  • Position is for the Business / Data Analyst of a data platform that supports Risk and Capital modeling teams. The position requires someone with the unique combination of design, data analysis, development and testing skills, who has the ability to understand the complex nature of risk / capital systems. The individual will be working with other members of a small agile team.

Responsibilities:

  • The Business / Data Analyst will be expected to perform analysis in support of development, test, and production activities. Individual will be expected to do data modeling and to perform data analyst activities (data mapping, data feeds analysis / profiling, data transformation definition, etc.) as needed, and to work with developers (on and off-shore) and business partners to understand / capture new requirements and to conduct user acceptance testing.
  • Person will be expected to coordinate with dev ops team (release management) on production release items if needed and for oversight of non-production environments. Candidate is expected to know Agile practices and capable of writing detailed Epics and stories.

Required Experience:

  • The position requires a minimum of 5-7 years of applicable experience. The individual should have data management and/or database development experience and will need to demonstrate SQL / technical skills. Required Technical Skills: RDBMS (Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server) knowledge for SQL code development. Basic Unix OS skills and Shell scripting; Agile methodology (hands on experience in Epic and Story writing)

Desired:

  • The ideal candidate will have an understanding of credit or market risk, CCAR, Macro Economics or the management of Macro-Economic data. Experience creating wire-diagrams or other mechanisms for capturing ETL designs.
  • Exposure to data analytic tools / languages. Experience with BIG DATA development, source control management (e.g., Bitbucket), release management or job scheduling (e.g., Autosys).

Primary Skill:

  • MS SQL Server

Secondary Skill:

  • Database/ Network/ Server admin
