Business Analyst / Data Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Business Analyst / Data Analyst for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Elicits, analyzes, and specifies the business needs of stakeholders. Collaborates with project sponsors to determine project scope, vision, outcome criteria and metrics.
• Conducts interviews to gather requirements via User Stories, Use Cases, Prototypes, Interviews, Workshops, Storyboards and JAD sessions
• Translates conceptual requirements into functional and non-functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
• Ability to perform feasibility studies, impact analysis, gap analysis and risk analysis
• Experienced with working closely with a Product Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master and supporting Agile team to refine Epics and Stories with supporting business process or business rules details as needed
• Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; partner strongly with multiple dependent groups to ensure a full, working product is delivered to the business
• Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
• Exposure with working in a technology environments such as data warehouse, data analytics, data science, AI/ML/NLP
• Exposure to working with team members in supporting QA and UAT testing of deliverables
• Exposure to conducting data analysis with SQL queries

Required Skills:

• Strong relationship, verbal and written communication, listening, presentation and influencing skills
• Analytical experience – ability to interpret business requirements into functional/non-functional requirements, issue resolution, risk mitigation and avoidance
• 10+ year industry experience, Financial
• Strong experience in Agile using tools like JIRA and similar requirement/work management tools
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail. Highly self-motivated and directed
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
• Exposure with working in a technology environments that requires hands on data analysis or data mapping using SQL, as well as ability to participate in testing of work products
• Exposure with working with multiple dependent groups, cross functionally in order to define requirements and deliver functionality throughout the agile project lifecycle

Desired Skills:

• Risk Management, Compliance or related fields
• Knowledge of core banking functions, processes and operations
• Experience with working in a data science domain or on Python, AI/ML/NLP tools and technologies
• Experience with writing test cases to support testing of various deliverables or work products
• Ability to support team and triage lower environment and production issues
