SkillStorm is seeking a Business Analyst for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our technology Team that delivers applications to meet critical internal and external stakeholder reporting needs on financial regulatory reporting. You will be key in ensuring continuous development excellence, high-level business user and other stakeholder satisfaction, and ultimately help us achieve our mission to deliver the reporting applications.

To Succeed In This Role, You MUST Have:

• Been a Business Analyst in an Agile environment and responsible for delivering technology applications for at least 5 years.
• Hands-on experience in Financial reporting applications/platforms preferably regulatory reporting.
• A good understanding of data warehousing and database technologies
• Excellent Analytical and Communication skills to articulate business pain points and translate them to actionable user stories using Jira, Confluence, and Visio etc.
• Superior listening, critical thinking and writing skills. You are expected to take complex, disparate ideas and distill them into simple, workable concepts by asking the right / tough questions! — The big answers almost never come from one source or one system.
• Managed discussions with business users and developers on requirements before, during and after project implementation to support cross-departmental initiatives in process driven environments
• Created and maintained technical documentation and knowledge-based articles to document new projects/programs, daily operations, or commonly faced issues
• Experience in writing test cases, running point in UAT and documenting findings
• A Proactive communication style in and outside the Scrum Team with good time management and organizational skills – You will work on projects with tight and competing deadlines!
• A good technical aptitude with an ability to take direction and lead as and when necessary
• An ability to contribute constructively in open discussions and being able to work with competing ideas to achieve project success with approved ideas

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage all aspects of system/data analysis and enhancements in automating regulatory report generation process for Broker Dealer business.
• Communicate effectively to obtain agreement between business partners and escalate items, when needed, to ensure execution activities remain on track.
• Works closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans and scripts are detailed and have traceability.
• Preparation of effective presentation materials for the project needs.
• Partner well with the Scrum Master, Project Manager, and other Agile team members

Required Skills:

• Ability to develop new specifications, create functional requirements and translate them into stories.
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Power Point, Visio, Excel and Word.
• Hands-on experience with Database SQL and Programming language like Python.
• Domain knowledge in Investment Banking/ Regulatory Reporting.
• Critical thinking and Problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Agile Principles.
• Capable of prioritizing multiple projects in order to meet goals without management oversight.
