Big Data Developer / Business Analyst (Closed)

Job Description:

• Individual will be responsible for a Big Data Application Development / Maintenance role on the ADS platforms under Wholesale Credit line of business. He/she will need to collaborate with a multiple stakeholders for design and development of a Data Strategy across Credit Data Applications

Position Summary:

• Responsible for developing and delivering end to end software solutions to accomplish business goals. Possess programming, Data Analysis and Business Analysis experience with overall 8-10 years of IT experience. Participate in design, development and implementation of solutions aligning to stakeholders business goals. Be a channel between business and technology teams, by translating business requirements into relevant technology objectives and vice versa.
• Develop design solutions, test scenarios, and ensure the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.

Job Responsibilities:

• Act as a single point of contact for the work assigned from inception to post production
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential, with excellent analytical/problem solving skills
• Ability to connect the dots across various applications and business processes, document data flows and identify gaps
• Understand the Business requirements clearly through Initiating and participating in Refinement sessions
• Translate business requirements into functional and in turn into technical requirements
• Perform in-depth data analysis activities and come up with work break down, low-level & High level design strategies
• Work effectively within a fast-paced environment
• Quickly adapt to change and prioritize time effectively
• Identify risks, mitigation plans and escalate timely
• Collaborate with Data architects and other global team members in data analysis in turn aid to build effective solutions
• Conduct design/solution review sessions with all the stakeholders (PO, Data Modelers, DDM etc.)
• Validate data at every stage (Pre SIT, SIT and UAT and Production) to make sure functional/business scenarios are addressed
• Adhere to ADS documentation and CI/CD guidelines
• Be an innovative thinker for continuous improvement of domain, data and application capabilities
• Provide leadership and mentor team for success
• Analyze complex queries, stored procedures to understand legacy and current processes
• Competency to wear multiple hats in a team
• View requirements from global banking product & portfolio management perspective to understand business benefits
• Take personal ownership of tasks and issues as they arise to find resolution.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 12 year experience in IT with strong hands-on knowledge in Spark, Scala, Hive HQL, HDFS, Hadoop, Shell Scripts and Oracle SQL
• Strong hands-on developer
• Experience gathering requirements, designing complex applications and creating technical documents
• Experience with Oracle Exadata and Autosys
• Experience with coding and testing prototypes
• Experience with unit tests especially in Hadoop environment
• Knowledge of Agile development SDLC process
• Working experience with CI/CD processes, tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence) and production deployment release process (e.g. change requests)

Desired Skills:

• Working experience in Banking domain (Wholesale Credit space is a plus)
