Role Description: 

The AWS-Certified Engineer will be part of the front-door team to the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE). They will interact with the various Divisions and Offices within the agency to answer their questions, understand business needs, coordinate alignment between business and the CCoE, and triage service and incident tickets appropriately. The engineer must interact with the other CCoE team members to understand any bottlenecks, roadblocks, and current status to relay to the CCoE’s customers. They will help develop operational runbooks and work closely with the client Product Owner to define and improve processes.

 

Responsibilities:

•           Work with our team as a Cloud Engineer in our AWS environment servicing a customer group.

•           Collaborate with a team of Cloud Engineers to support infrastructure support requests.

•           Administrate and manage cloud infrastructure for client.

•           Assist team members by providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise for complex problems.

•           Document any

 

Qualifications:

•           US Citizen – no dual citizenship

•           AWS certification required

•           Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and a minimum of 3 years related technical work experience

•           Ability to work and produce results in an agile and fast-paced environment with dynamic deadlines.

•           Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, PowerShell, JavaScript, Python (preferred))

•           Experience with either Linux or Windows command line interface

•           Familiarity with JSON or YAML object writing

•           Understanding of orchestration tools (chef, puppet, ansible, or AWS SSM or code pipeline preferred)

•           Familiarity with common protocols including but not limited to DNS, SMTP, HTTP(s), SFTP, SCP

•           Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, Private Clouds etc.)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline

On-site (Government / AFS Site):  Washington, D.C.

Off-site (Contractor Site):  Remote

Work Authorization: US Citizens

Clearance Required: Public Trust (Interim clearance required to start)
