Position Summary

We are seeking experienced trainers for a contract opportunity supporting our VET TEC training program, delivering technical instruction to veterans preparing for careers in technology. This is a 1099 contract opportunity requiring 40 hours per week for 16 weeks. Trainers will lead structured coursework, provide hands-on lab guidance, and help students build practical skills aligned with industry certifications and real-world technical roles.

Required Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP) and AWS Solutions Architect Associate (SAA) certification or equivalent knowledge — active certification is not required, but candidates must demonstrate strong working knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture at that level
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make cloud concepts accessible to learners at all experience levels
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting veteran learners

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Authorized Instructor (AAI) certification (current or expired)
  • Prior experience teaching AWS, cloud technologies, or related technical content
  • Professional background in networking, IT infrastructure, or cloud architecture
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, cloud environments, and real-world deployment scenarios
  • Military veterans with relevant training or experience are highly encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructor-led training for AWS cloud coursework across a 16-week, full-time program (40 hours/week)
  • Facilitate and troubleshoot hands-on AWS labs, guiding students through exercises and real-world cloud scenarios in real time
  • Help students build a clear understanding of core cloud concepts, AWS services, and architecture best practices
  • Provide day-to-day mentorship and technical support, creating an encouraging learning environment for veteran students
  • Monitor and track individual student progress, reinforcing key topics and ensuring students are prepared for AWS certification exams
  • Collaborate with program staff to maintain course quality and student accountability throughout the cohort

Pay Range: $60 per hour

The posted salary range represents the good-faith minimum and maximum base pay for this role. Individual compensation is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
