Automation Test Engineer (Closed)

Description of Work:

  • Testing/debugging REST APIs implemented using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Designing and developing automated unit, integration and behavioral tests via TDD.
  • Leveraging testing libraries and frameworks such as JUnit, Spring Test, Mockito, Cucumber and Selenium.
  • Integrating automated tests into a DevOps pipeline using Jenkins and Maven as part of the SDLC.
  • Developing and implementing automated tests profiles.
  • Analyzing logs using tools like Splunk and Nagios.
  • Using the JIRA and Confluence to manage requirements, user stories, defects/bugs and testing artifacts.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline and 7 years of experience or Master’s and 5 years of experience or 11 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience:
    • Testing/debugging REST APIs implemented using Java and Spring Boot
    • Designing and developing automated unit, integration and behavioral tests via TDD
    • Leveraging testing libraries and frameworks such as JUnit, Spring Test, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium or any other equivalent
    • Integrating automated tests into a DevOps pipeline using Jenkins and Maven as part of the SDLC
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience:
    • Developing and implementing automated tests profiles that execute across multiple environments using the Spring framework
    • Analyzing logs using tools like Splunk, Nagios or any other equivalent
    • Using the JIRA and Confluence to manage requirements, user stories, defects/bugs and testing artifacts
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.

 

  • Ability to absorb and apply new technical knowledge rapidly as it relates to JWT, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSL Extended Validation certificates, and other standards
  • Ability to advocate for comprehensive testing strategies and staying up to date on the latest testing methods and tools
  • Basic knowledge of containerized applications
  • Basic knowledge of code scanning tools such as SonarQube (static code analysis) and Sonatype Nexus (vulnerability scanning)
  • Basic knowledge of SSL/TLS, x.509 certificates and related web standards
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong understanding of how to isolate a SUT using mocks, stubs and shims for applications that leverage IoC
  • Prior Federal government experience.
