Automation Engineer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an Automation Engineer for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • As an Automation Engineer, you will use your knowledge and experience to engineer integrations into Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and on-premise technology services to drive operational excellence through integrated automation and monitoring services. We are looking for a person who has the right mindset to be a part of an elite team of developers and engineers focused on making our businesses successful. You must possess a unique blend of technical and customer facing skills. Be an out of the box thinker and able to directly engage with all stakeholders - security, compliance, data, user experience, business, engineering, governance. Responsible for helping to implement Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 automation and integration standards, and baselines.

As A Successful Automation Engineer, Your Performance Objectives Include:

  • Participant in the overall design of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 automation framework
  • Help drive definition and standards required for the automation framework
  • Translates high-level service designs from service and project management into implementations
  • Document implementation playbooks with design specifications for adds/changes/deletes of services and related components
  • Work with architects, service and product managers to identify / implement service requirements
  • Ensures designs produced adhere to architectural roadmaps and supports the development, execution, and operation of service
  • Analyze and recommend designs based on feature requirements
  • Based on the requirements, create test cases, perform the tests, and develop automation integrations
  • Analyze any issues found and provide detailed remediation options
  • Analyze any defect reports along with log files and be the first line of troubleshooting automation
  • Develop, document, and maintain an understanding of how the data will be used within automation routines
  • Update and maintain existing PowerShell scripts which perform data intake and extraction as needed
  • Update, write, and maintain a MSFT SQL database/queries
  • Maintain legacy batch scripts on Windows server
  • Thoroughly test integration and updates to the code / scripts before they are deployed
  • Qualified candidates must have the following:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in a related field.
  • 5+ years of extensive experience and technical knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies including automation development and Graph API integration
  • English speaking/writing
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Self-managed and motivated individual
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Able to communicate well with non-technical contacts
  • Able to understand and update batch scripts on Windows Server
  • Experience with writing test cases
  • Experience writing integration scripts with API calls
  • Experience writing data queries with response actions
