Your software career starts here, with a company that exists to get people deployed.
SkillStorm prepares technology talent for Fortune 100 enterprises and U.S. government agencies. Over 12 weeks of paid, hands-on training, you'll work on real projects as part of a team, then go straight to an enterprise or government client, effective day one. There's no tuition and no cost to you. This is a paid position with a defined path from "qualified" to "deployed professional."
We want people who are early in their technical careers, including recent graduates, career changers with a technical background, and transitioning service members and veterans. If you have the fundamentals and the motivation, and you're looking for a structured way into enterprise software work, we want to hear from you.
What it takes to qualify. You're likely a match if you bring these:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or similar)
- One or more years of technical work experience
Along with either path, you'll need a working knowledge of programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, databases and SQL, and software development in an object-oriented language such as Java or C#.
Each applicant who meets one of these paths is reviewed individually for fit. If you're on the fence about whether you qualify, apply. Leave that decision to us rather than screening yourself out.
You'll stand out if you have:
- Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills
- Clear written and spoken communication with teammates and stakeholders
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
- Willingness to relocate for a client placement
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on SkillStorm's W2 (C2C arrangements are not available)
To veterans and transitioning service members: structured training, a defined mission, clearance-eligible work, and relocation support already reflect how you operate. This program was designed with you in mind, and we're actively looking to bring you in.
Your work after deployment:
- Develop and improve applications using your client's languages, frameworks, and tools
- Produce clean, efficient, well-organized code that meets professional standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, and provide technical support
- Take part in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback
- Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications
- Assist with testing and production deployments, and keep technical documentation up to date
- Stay current on industry tools and practices through continued training
What SkillStorm offers:
- Competitive salary, paid from day one with no training costs on your end
- Enterprise-level technology training and certifications
- Placement with Fortune 100 companies and government agencies
- Health, vision, dental, and life insurance, plus a 401(k)
- Ongoing mentorship and support through training and placement
