SkillStorm is seeking an Application Support Specialist for our client in Chicago, IL. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Work as a L2 application support associate in the GBAM MAPS Credit team. Provide technical and application support to the business and technical stakeholders. The role involves day to day support and the managing and resolution of incidents and projects.
  • Responsibilities include the support of users on complex and critical systems, the investigation of problems related to supported applications, and responding to requests from multiple places in a timely manner. The associate will work independently, within the team, and with external teams to identify and implement solutions to issues as well as improvements to the current system and processes. Documentation, communication, and tracking of activities is expected. Position requires some weekend hours.

Top 3 Must Have Skillsets Required:

  • Unix/Linux – expert user level with shell/perl scripting exposure
  • SQL experience
  • Trading industry knowledge/background

Level of Experience Needed:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple critical requests
  • Ability to manage a high volume of requests and communication on multiple channels effectively
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Ability to apply gained knowledge to undefined situations
  • Ability to break down complex initiatives into stages and track/drive completion across various stakeholders.
