Application Support (Closed)
SkillStorm is seeking an Application Support Specialist for our client in Addison, TX or Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.
Job Description:
- Individual will perform as a contributing member part of Environment support and Deployment team, will work on Code Deployments and release, monitor environment, and coordinate with multiple teams to make sure environment is up to date and ready for testing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively, clearly articulating technical issues, problem resolution, environment readiness status and reporting.
- Proactively Monitor and maintain Lower-Level environments
- Work with different stake holders on triage call, handling defects, Issue Analysis & making sure environment is stable and healthy
- Analyze the issue and communicate technical details with teams.
- Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented and responsible team player
- Provide Application and Environment Support and Triage
- Manage and Prioritize Defects via ALM Quality Center
- Attend planning meetings, define detailed tasks, participate in triage and incident management
- Execute manual and automate deployment functions and responsibilities
- Comfortable to handle deployments with the help of Ansible, XLR, and configuration management systems
- Perform retrofits, test and production code deployments enabling daily, weekly, monthly code migration based on prod Break Fix environments
- Validate deployments and communicate code readiness across stakeholders
- Collaborate with application partners, lower-level environment management, middleware infrastructure partners, DevOps automation, etc. to remediate issues
- Software development activities in support of software automation
Required Skills:
- Education: B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)
- Certifications If Any: NA
- Experience Range: Minimum 6 to 9 years’ experience
- Strong working knowledge of Unix / Linux
- Strong working knowledge of IBM WebSphere / Tomcat (or equivalent working knowledge of any Middleware and debugging techniques)
- Working knowledge of application setup, support, and configuration
- Exposure and familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)
- Experience Application Code build and Deployments, Environment management support and release functions.
- Working knowledge on Software control tools, build management tools and code deployment tools - Ansible, XLR, Bitbucket
- Working knowledge on – ALM Quality Center, JIRA, Remedy, Nexus, SharePoint
- Working knowledge of Monitoring tools like SiteScope, AppDynamics, Splunk, etc
- Must be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented and a responsible team-player
- Communicates and Documents clearly and effectively
- Knowledge of software scanning and testing tools such as Sonar, Junit, Nunit etc.
- Basic knowledge of MQ / SQL
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge in Windows platform
- Understand process improvement to create ideas and drive deployment efficiency and effectiveness
- PowerShell, Unix Schell Scripting knowledge.
- Working knowledge of version control repository tools such as Bitbucket
