Application Programmer V (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an Oracle Developer for our client in Addison, Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Position Summary:

  • Follow high quality database development standards
  • Lead/Participate in design discussions, prototype development
  • Refactor code for latest database and hardware technologies
  • Provide direct support to Application teams
  • Ability to function in agile team environment using Scrum framework
  • Design and Development of:
    • Transactional Database Tables
    • Reports
    • PL/SQL package, procedure and trigger design, development and debugging
    • Understand and apply database structures, theories, principles and practices
    • Monitor database application performance and identify current and future potential bottle-necks

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 5+ years’ experience in an Oracle development environment
  • Working knowledge of Oracle 11g/Oracle 12c added capabilities and functionality
  • 5+ years working with PL/SQL
  • 5+ years of SQL and SQL Tuning experience
  • Experience working with source control
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems quickly and communicate proposed solutions
  • Ability to build and maintain supportive relationships within a team environment
  • Strong work ethic and drive for results
  • Hands-on experience with .NET and Java
  • Working experience with Oracle 12c and Oracle Jobs
  • Knowledge and experience with Performance tuning
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including periodic 24/7 on-call support as part of the team’s rotational schedule
