SkillStorm is seeking a Database Developer for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• Seeking a self-starting individual who is motivated, eager to learn and grow as part of a team responsible for the development of a database application (Oracle), ETL (Informatica), and data quality procedures. The candidate will be part of an Agile team and whose responsibilities will include: database development, ETL development, Unix Shell scripting, data analysis using SQL and documentation, troubleshooting data and application issues, estimations / proof of concepts for business users, and responsible for promoting developed objects to environments for business users.
• Background in Hadoop / python development is preferred as well. Candidates should have a sense of urgency when handling issues impacting the business; excellent problem solving skills with a structured and repeatable approach; ability to work with limited supervision and be able to act as a the on-site point of contact for the application; good communication skills; self-motivated and a team player; desire to lead and take ownership of deliverables; ability to quickly grasp the business needs and be able to adapt to the changes; the ability to co-ordinate to solve technical and production issues is required.

Required Skills:

• Strong database development skills; strong familiarity with ETL; Unix Shell scripting; hands on experience on scheduling tools like Autosys; demonstrated ability to solve technical and production issues.

Desired Skills:

• Hadoop / python development; database programming skills (Oracle or other RDBMS); Informatica configuration knowledge/experience; Experience in using Bitbucket for version control; Good understanding of CI/CD tools like Jenkins SonarQube, Artifactory and Ansible; CI/CD implementation and deployment to non-production environments; Experience in a complex matrix environment.
