SkillStorm is seeking Java Developer for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• A Software Engineer II, is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. This role codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. They are familiar with development and testing practices of the client. A Software Engineer II, is an individual contributor to a team.

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of coding experience in big data applications using Hadoop technologies such as Spark, Hive and Sqoop
• 2+ years working experience in Java/J2EE and Object Oriented programming.
• 2+ years of experience utilizing SQL
• Strong experience in UNIX & Shell Scripting
• Experience in job scheduling tools like Autosys
• Ability to think out of box and provide innovative solutions
• Ability to work independently and take up E2E ownership of tasks
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Desired:

• Experience in Java/J2EE and Object Oriented programming.
• Experience with Python and Scala
