SkillStorm is seeking a Tableau Server Administrator for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Enterprise Business Intelligence Technology manages the core portfolio of BI tools. The role is for a Tableau Server Administrator who has significant back end coding experience using Python or Java. The Tableau Server administrator will be responsible for integrating the Tableau software product with other applications and technologies. He or she will be knowledgeable in troubleshooting issues that stem from programmatic integration by our user community into Tableau Server. The Back-end Developer will use his or her understanding of programming languages and tools to analyze current codes and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users. Should have strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to understand root cause of complex Tableau Server / platform issues.

Essential Functions:

• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
• Recording data and reporting it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership.
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.
• Should be able to develop with Tableau's JavaScript API to integrate with existing Tableau Dashboards.
• Should be able to write effective Java or Python based scripts to call API based data sources and yield Tableau data extracts or .hyper files as datasets.
• Should be able to query object-oriented databases via Tableau's Python or Java SDK and Extract API to create and publish data extracts onto Server.
• Should be able to automate server tasks.
• Should be able to programmatically code JavaScript-based Tableau extensions to enable capabilities like Natural Language Generation, Write-back to a database, export to PowerPoint, etc.
