Agile Scrum Master (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Scrum Master/ Project Manager for our client in New York, New York. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm’s W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

  • Scrum Master / Technical Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end management and delivery of a material change for Global Capital Markets Deal Central projects within Global Banking Technology. The Scrum Master facilitates the Agile methodology and activities, manages, leads the work efforts of resources that are functionally aligned as part of the multiple project teams. As Technical PM will coordinate with key delivery teams responsible for Test Environments Management, Production Release Management, Performance testing and Capacity Management plus other teams to deliver Pre Prod and Production infrastructure in the environments. Track and support the technical security and risk activities performed by the development teams (for example, remediation of non-permitted technology or security vulnerabilities, technical recovery planning, disaster recovery exercises, and so on).

Skills:

  • The Scrum Master is responsible for the end-to-end integration of various work streams in order to deliver the intended project solution, the position specific responsibilities include: Manage Project Scope.
  • Leads the daily SCRUM ceremonies of the Agile project teams and partners with the product owner to lead the teams.
  • Ensure the team has a healthy product and Sprint backlog (in collaboration with the PO).
  • Removes impediments to the ability of the team to deliver and is keenly focused on the activities and progress of the Agile project team
  • Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration within the Agile team to support value delivery and Sprint commitments.
  • Provides visibility into the Agile team’s delivery plans and progress against plan to stakeholders.
  • Enable the team to become high performing through collaboration and a relentless focus on continuous improvement including cross-skilling across the team.
  • Measure team delivery, maturity, and performance and review the metrics with the team to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate monthly Release Activity including documentation prep, supporting tech teams engagement and post-release verifications and communications

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of technical experience in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and delivery projects
  • 5+ experience working in an Agile Environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Atlassian products and tools, including JIRA, JQL, and Wiki.
  • Good knowledge of software development, testing practices, architecture, design and infrastructure
  • Must be well versed with application deployment/release/user-rollout management
  • Technical understanding J2EE Middleware build, Oracle Database Build, monitoring tools and Information Security standards
  • Integrate with project, technology and business partners to manage the projects and be proactive in gathering status updates from partners, while minimizing impact
  • Ability to lead and influence team in adopting the Agile principles
  • Ability to foster strong collaboration among team members and help team solve problems
  • Self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines
  • Good understanding on financial/banking processes, domain
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Demonstrates ability to identify root causes to solve complex problems in highly unstable situations
