Agile Scrum Master (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Scrum Master/PMO/Project Manager for our client in Jersey City, New Jersey. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

  • The Client is looking for an accomplished Scrum Master/PMO/Project Manager who has prior experience in Credit Risk or Global Markets middle/back office technology preferably with Big 5 consulting firms. This is a multi-disciplinary role that will require the successful candidate to take on numerous diverse responsibilities and will necessitate close partnership with senior business and technology managers. Ideally, the candidate will have a background in development or have worked very closely with development teams. The candidate will help the Team by facilitating Scrum activities, tracking and removing impediments for the team, and coaching team members in Agile practices.
  • This individual will work on Weekly and monthly reporting on project details and status to various stakeholders, partners. Senior Mgmt, and Tech Execs. Will work on Monthly resource allocation process to forecast resource needs for upcoming month. Collaborates and communicates with other project managers and dev leads, and managers to coordinate resources among multiple work streams, cross-project initiatives and activities. Prepare and produce project status, Issue/Risk and RAG reports for senior management. Preparation of weekly and monthly operational metrics reports including cost savings status and forecasts.
  • Will also work with business users and technology groups to: manage the project plan, drive project completion, facilitating issues, maintaining control over scope and ensuring that project artifacts are maintained, prepare materials to present to stakeholders or technology, both visually and in textual form, Manage project risk. Proactively identify and engage key project stakeholders/partners to avoid unanticipated issues and gaps during project execution. Pro-active status reporting and key issues. . The candidate will also define, design, implement (and manage ongoing production of) Program and Project tracking and reporting capabilities to support the PMO and application delivery teams in their adherence to corporate program and project governance. Familiarity with various software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.) is a pre-requisite. The candidate must be familiar with enterprise tools that are used to track large Initiatives and Programs.
  • Successfully execute all relevant project phases to design, build, test, and implement deliverables required to achieve project objectives and benefit targets. Establish basic scope control procedures. Effectively identify and manage changes to project scope. Assist in the development of project budgets and monthly budgetary tracking in compliance with the banks financial practices. Responds to operational issues and RFIs within defined areas of responsibility while progressing on project work. Effectively directs internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technology. Ability to communicate within a multi-disciplined team, across multiple locations and time zones, and to interact with demanding business users. A flexible, hardworking and ""can do"" attitude; comfortable working in a fast paced environment with frequent release cycles and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong financial markets product knowledge, credit risk experience (any asset class). Excellent technical skills; SQL, MS Excel, JIRA, MS Project, Sharepoint, Visio, MS Powerpoint, MS Word. Computer Engineering/Financial Degree. Knowledge of software development life cycle Desirable skills. Must have experience with Agile methodologies. Experience with statistical models: Monte-Carlo, Risk Analytics would be a big plus. Exposure to financial / product control functions within a bank. Exposure to Java, or Python scripting would be helpful.
