Agile Scrum Master (Closed)

 

SkillStorm is seeking a Scrum Master for our client in Richardson, Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

  • The Scrum Master acts as a servant leader, facilitates Agile Team Ceremonies and is accountable for optimizing flow through the team. Scrum Master removes impediments, guides the team members in Scrum practices, protects team from outside interferences; ensures sustainability of project by taking appropriate actions; organizes Scrum events, plans Scrum implementation. Scrum master improves the skills of team members, thereby increases the productivity.

Required Skills:

  • Facilitate team ceremonies / events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Facilitate cross functional discussions, enable decision making and navigate conflict resolution
  • Guide the team on how to apply Agile Principles and utilize Agile/Scrum practices
  • Manage and help resolve impediments, escalating issues beyond the team’s control
  • Ensure team metrics and test results are transparent and used to enable data driven decisions
  • Promoting continuous improvement and ensuring retrospective items land in the backlog and have a clear ownership
  • Assess Agile / Scrum maturity and ensure that the team works at a sustainable pace
  • Supports the Product Owner on Grooming/Refinement sessions and ensuring a healthy backlog
  • Establish an environment of trust and transparency and lead by example
  • Guide the team to explore and apply other agile engineering approaches (Ex: XP, Kanban, TDD, etc…)
  • May support up to 2 teams concurrently (based on maturity)
  • Supports performance test execution and capacity planning

  • Education and experience in the Scrum Master role and can apply Agile / Scrum principles, practices and theory in everything we do
  • Pragmatic ability to apply servant leadership (putting the team before self)
  • Robust facilitation skills and situational awareness
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement through transparency and learning
  • Exhibits a continuous learner mindset and is comfortable when faced with complex problems
  • Strong navigation skills and organizational awareness
  • Certified in SAFE Scaled Agile for Scrum Masters desired
