Agile Coach (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an Agile Coach for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • The Lean Agile Coach will work with executive leaders that span the organization to the portfolio level providing guidance around facilitating and leading an Agile transformation as well as providing consultation around organizational Agile practices/processes. The Agile Coach: is responsible for providing knowledge, architecture and expertise around enterprise Lean Agile processes while coaching leadership roles in the organization to successfully lead and manage concepts at the enterprise level. is responsible for providing knowledge, architecture and expertise around enterprise lean agile processes while coaching leadership roles in the organization to successfully lead and manage concepts at the enterprise level. is an Individual Contributor that coordinates and coaches executive leaders across an organization within the SAFe framework architecture of Agile methodology, specific to Scrum, Scrum Master skills, Lean and Kanban.
  • Responsible for optimizing the flow of stories and the value delivered by one or more Scrum teams. Coordinates and facilitates Scrum ceremonies, managing dependencies for the team, providing visibility into team delivery plans and progress, enabling continuous improvement within the team. Ensures the impediments are resolved quickly, the team follows their agreed-to processes, and that there is a good relationship between the Product Owner and the development team. Acts as an Agile Coach, promoting and coaching the Agile mindset and principles, empowering the team to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potential. Guides and coaches one or more teams on Scrum practices, and develops their understanding of Agile principles. Facilitates Scrum ceremonies i.e. Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Demos/Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. In a Scaled Agile model, facilitates scaled planning for the team - e.g. Pre Planning/ Preparation, PI Planning Events - and represents the team in Scrum of Scrums/ART Syncs. Helps the team define norms/agreements, like a Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, and enforces the agreements. Ensures the team has a healthy product and Sprint backlog (in collaboration with the PO).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong project financial management skills
  • Guides projects through all phases, ensuring required standards and processes are followed, required documents are completed, and required tracking systems are kept updated
  • Develops and manages to project plan
  • Identifies, assigns, tracks, escalates, and resolves issues
  • Schedules and facilitates regular meetings to review progress and status, and ad hoc topical meetings; formulates agendas and documents minutes, action items. etc.
  • Ability to provide project status on deliverables or escalate issues to sr. leaders and executives
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) proficient
  • 7+ years of End-2-End Project Management experience
  • Advanced JIRA skills necessary

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with SAFe 4.0 (or higher) Lean-Agile methodology a plus
