Position Summary:

  • This is a senior leadership role that requires the individual to be able to operate at all levels of the organization including the senior leadership team of technology, operations and line of business and be able to guide and influence both cultural and process change.
  • Senior Agile Coach with significant experience in Scaled Agile (SAFe) and Scrum. Ability to coach multiple Agile Release Trains and respective teams in Scaled Agile principles and Scrum / Kanban practices to optimize benefits of being Agile. Skilled in kicking off and coaching new Agile Release Trains / Agile teams, cross-functional team members (Dev, QA, BA, Architecture), Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Product Managers and other supporting roles to achieve business outcomes. Provide a vision and strategy; coach and calibrate the team; enable a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to facilitate the Agile framework, training sessions and activities. Ability to facilitate & coach Release Train events (RTE Sync, PM/PO Sync, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect and Adapt, Quarterly PI Planning events to be handed off to be led by team members.
  • The candidate must have the ability to design and implement a successful organizational transformation that delivers breakthrough business, cultural and human results as a change leader. Integrates an Agile culture and process within our company’s business. Identifies, develops and executes strategies and supporting tactics to engage and influence stakeholders to make needed behavioral changes. Partners to develop transition plans, including ongoing success measures to sustain the change. Effectively communicates with managers, peers and business partners on deliverables, timelines and support needed from them. Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Typically 5+ years of Agile experience in a change agent or servant / leader role.

Required Skills:

  • Able to manage a Release Train as an RTE if needed.
  • 3+ years leading agile transformation with direct experience as a program or team level coach - transforming new Agile Release Trains and teams to Lean Agile at scale as the primary role (not as a secondary or supplemental role)
  • 5+ years of COMBINED Agile experience in a change agent role
  • 10+ years technology experience in IT full development life cycle
  • Direct Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, concepts, and events
  • Able to quickly establish collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and team members to help them on their journey of adopting Agile; Strong collaboration and influencing skills; ability to establish and maintain strong relationships, establish credibility, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Has faced difficult challenges, group dynamics, organizational impediments, and has become a coach to Agile Release Trains, teams, managers and others
  • Can prepare and deliver effective communication of progress including the use of agile metrics and maturity assessments
  • Ability to work within a community of coaches, contributing to this community toward best in class standards, practices and consistency with and continual improvement of the coaching team as a whole
  • Has worked with incorporating Enterprise Change (governance) policies into their Agile processes successfully.

  • Agile Certifications preferred (SPC, Scaled Agilist (SA), CSM, RTE, CPO, etc.)

  • Experience in delivering training or team kick off boot camps
  • Financial services experience
  • Big data experience
  • Federal regulations experience
