Agile Coach (Closed)
SkillStorm is seeking an Agile Coach for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.
Position Summary:
- This role is responsible for enabling teams, up to an entire Agile Release Train, to learn, implement, and mature Lean-Agile principles and practices. Key responsibilities include training and coaching teams and lead roles on Agile and modern engineering practices. This role empowers teams to become self-managing, fulfill their cross-functional potential, and have an attitude of relentless improvement. They guide and support the transformation, sustainability and continuous maturing for Lean-Agile concepts and execution, plus educating leaders on supporting and advancing the mindset.
Coaching Approach and Style:
- Proven ability to listen, observe and build trust with teams and leadership that may need coach-driven influencing and guidance.
- Communicate effectively to senior leadership regarding the organizational Agile maturity/efficiency analysis and action plans, without pushing a specific agenda.
- Flexible coaching style that adapts and aligns with the organizational maturity, cultural factors and Agile adoption state.
- Drive consensus through facilitation of mutual agreements and personal commitments by fostering trust and partnership.
Required Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework and ability to teach and coach teams, as well as program and portfolio level stakeholders, to adopt these practices
- Extensive experience and proficiency with specific industry tools including Jira, Confluence, SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate physical and virtual PI Planning events and Scrum of Scrums or Release Train level forums
- Ensure Enterprise Change Management, Compliance and other policy requirements for technology solutions are met for the epics/features delivered by the teams and trains
- Experience leading and facilitating periodic Agility health assessments with teams and tracking the ongoing trends and action items
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and innovative learning through failure
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with the Agility Health Radar tool for team-based Agile assessments
- Promote/facilitate communication and collaboration within the ART to support value delivery and PI commitments
- Measure organizational delivery, maturity, and performance and review the metrics with release trains and leadership to identify improvement opportunities
