Accessibility Specialist (Closed)

Description of Work:

  • Test web applications with Assistive Technology (JAWS 2019 / MAGic 14).
  • Test application code for compliance using ANDI (Accessible Name and Description Inspector) and developer tools.
  • Consult with internal SSA application teams to be 508 compliant.
  • Develop accessibility reporting template for SSA testers.
  • Participate in development of internal SSA accessibility reporting application.
  • Understands the business problem statement, user stories, and technical constraints
  • Participate in planning, retrospectives, demos and daily stand-ups.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis.
  • Ensure Section 508 Compliance.
  • Become knowledgeable on the HIPAA policies and procedures for the program and ensure awareness of HIPAA breach process. Understand your role in HIPAA compliance and be able to execute that role in an effective manner.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.

 

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience, Master’s degree and 5 years of related experience, or a minimum 11 years of work experience in the IT industry in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with web and client/server applications including SQL, HTML, XML, AJAX, JAVA, JavaScript, WebSphere, Cold Fusion, Oracle/Hyperion and applications developed in other environments
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat documents
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Adobe Acrobat read only and fillable electronic forms, as well as forms in other electronic formats
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Alternative formats to electronic documents, including accessible electronic text, HTML, Audio, Braille, Large Print, and other alternative formats
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365
  • Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green card holder)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance

  • Experience with Selenium and Cucumber/Gherkin
  • Experience with physical accessibility (i.e. self-service kiosks)
  • Experience with Agile and creation of user stories
  • Prior Federal government experience
